Recently I’ve started a huge painting side project: painting the miniatures from the War of the Ring game http://www.boardgamegeek.com/game/9609. These miniatures are really amazing, considering they are part of a boardgame that really isn’t that expensive! They are slightly smaller than the Warhammer Fantasy miniatures (about 20 mm), but they are great for me to get some experience in painting, and they’re a lot of fun as well.
This is the first completed Elven regular:
I still need to figure out how to make some more decent pictures, as these are a bit dark (the actual colours are slightly different). Eyes remain a difficulty!
See ya…

good work.
I had the same problem with pictures. don’t bother with the flash but get a strong desk lamp above the miniature (about 12 inches above it). The ones with strong lithium lights (I think they’re called lithium ?) can be held well above the miniature 3 feet or so and you’ll still get a good piccie.
Also, check to see if your camera has a built in macro close up mode.
Good luck,
Sigmar
