I like making my own mixes as basecoats. For some reason I think it adds some depths to the colours. Also it helps to deviate from the standard colours a bit.
This skintone is made using the following colours:
- Dark Reaper (GW)
- Cadian Fleshtone (GW)
- Genestealer Purple (GW)
- Light Flesh (Vallejo)
The base of the skin tone is a mix between genestealer purple, cadian
fleshtone and a pinch of dark reaper, in a ratio of 2:2:1. Shading was done by adding
more and more dark reaper to the basecoat with each layer. As I wanted to keep a cold skintone, I decided to not add in a basic skintone to the mix, as that would make it warmer. If you want a warmer skintone, you could to this of course. Instead I build up the highlights by adding light flesh to the basecoat. Using a little more of light flesh with each consecutive step I highlighted until I reached pure light flesh.
